When the United States Pharmacopeia looked to expand its footprint into new markets, Coqui was there as a consistent partner. As an American quasi-government agency moving into foreign markets, the organization had significant considerations for its expansion – ranging from managing stakeholders to tailoring products for local markets.
With USP, we Coqui was the lead strategy consultant to COO of United States Pharmacopeia to open 3 new global markets (Brazil, India, China) to USP’s drug standards, developing the business and market entry plans for growing revenue from $32 mm to over $115 mm, establishing critical government and private-sector partnerships, doubling pipeline of technology/data products and service lines.
We worked as dedicated consultants for 3 years of fully successful globalization, conducting the research needed to make smart decisions, developing smart marketing and communications strategies to enter new markets (in multiple languages) with success. And then we moved on to support the organization in efforts to take on counterfeit drugs in foreign markets, as well as on improving the safety and quality of dietary supplements and pharmaceutical ingredients.
